Diablo 4: Players Are Running Into Issues With Season 8 Battle Pass
Multiple Diablo 4 players took to social media to state that the Season 8 Reliquary system, intended to replace the old battle pass, is currently broken. Purchasing a Diablo 4 Reliquary will still deduct the respective points from the Platinum balance, but it will not reward players with the pass. Blizzard later acknowledged the bug and stated an investigation was underway.
On April 29, Blizzard launched Diablo 4 Season 8, highlighted by the return of Belial, a notorious boss from Diablo 3. Known by titles such as The Lord of Lies, Belial was the main antagonist of Diablo 3's second act. Belial was eventually sealed in the Black Soulstone by the player character. Following the stone's destruction by Malthael, Belial and the other Evils trapped within eventually escaped. Belial's Return is the main event of Diablo 4's Season 8, which saw some last-minute changes to the Patch 2.2.0 notes before the update went live. Some of these changes included class balance adjustments and bug fixes.
Although Diablo 4's eighth season also saw the arrival of the Reliquary battle pass system, its implementation has already run into some major problems. As reported by Windows Central, the Diablo 4 Reliquaries are currently broken and will not reward any players who purchase one with the Platinum currency. Though the Platinum will be deducted from a player's balance, the Reliquary rewards, such as Weapons and Beasts, will not be granted to the player. Diablo 4 fans took to social media to spread awareness of the issue and warn others not to purchase any Reliquaries until a fix has been issued.
Diablo 4's New Reliquary System Is Bugged
Blizzard posted an update on the official Diablo forums shortly after Patch 2.2.0 went live, and confirmed that the Reliquary bug was being investigated. A fix remained in development as of this writing, and no timetable was given by Blizzard. It is not clear if those affected by the bug will have their Platinum refunded or if the Reliquary will be awarded retroactively.
Needless to say, Diablo 4 players may want to hold off on spending any more Platinum until the fix has been tested and properly implemented. Along with the Reliquary, Diablo 4 Season 8 made changes to endgame content. A new mechanic called Boss Powers gives players a way to further customize their gameplay styles. Additional adjustments to endgame bosses and Legendary loot were also made in the 2.2.0 update.
Between the return of Belial and the upcoming Berserk crossover event in May, Diablo 4 looks to give players more diverse content to enjoy. Only time will tell when the Reliquary issue and other bugs will be successfully addressed.
In the meantime, having Diablo 4 gold and items in hand will help you get ahead, especially if you're gearing up for these events. If you need help with acquiring more Diablo 4 items, optimizing builds, or any other in-game details,
